Wow this is so raw. I appreciate the question of what is resiliency? That definition is based a lot on the support networks you might be lucky enough to have, but it’s also a view from the outside. Sometimes people think you’re resilient when really you’re just good at masking.
Thanks Rebecca! I think a lot about resiliency and the role masking plays in it. One reason is because I also hear "resilience" used a lot in a startup context to describe successful founders and companies. But some of the most resilient founders I know are the ones whose startups ultimately failed or encountered serious operational issues. It makes me think that if we're thinking about what we describe as resilience, then we also need to examine what we describe as success.
